Recently, HTC has announced the launch of its new flagship phone - the HTC One. With this launch, the company has become the second major manufacturer after Sony to announce its new flagship device for 2013. The phone offers notable improvements in terms of hardware and functionality over its predecessor - the HTC One X. Let's find out what they are.
Design:
HTC One sports a sleek and slim design with gorgeous styling around the corners and edges. Its aluminum-made body measures 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm which is quite commendable as the phone has a large display. It also provides a solid feel in the hand as it weighs 143 grams.
Display:
The phone comes packed with a 4.7 inches Super LCD 3 capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels and pixel density of 469 ppi. Up until now, no smartphone display has been able to provide such high pixel density so you are guaranteed to get a superior viewing experience. Also, the screen is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
Camera:
HTC One comes with a 4 MP Ultrapixel camera which can be used to take snaps of up to 2688 x 1520 pixels. You can also shoot Full-HD videos of 1080 pixels at the rate of 30 frames per second. It is a newly developed snapper that is different from a standard mobile phone camera as it uses larger pixels to capture more light. There is a second 2.1 megapixel camera which supports 1080p HD video recording as well.
Chipset:
HTC One arrives with a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset which we have earlier seen the LG Optimus G Pro as well. It has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, Adreno 320 GPU, 32 or 64 GB on-board storage and 2 GB of RAM. The phone doesn't have a microSD card slot so you can't increase its memory capacity. However, you can use HTC's complimentary free Dropbox account with 25 GB storage for 2 years without paying any charges.
Software:
HTC One runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean along with HTC's custom Sense 5.0 user interface. The company has assured users that it will provide an update to version 4.2.2 once the phone reaches markets. HTC has loaded some amazing apps in addition to the standard Android apps so users will get plenty of features and functionality.

Pricing:
HTC One will be arriving in the UK market with a price tag of £459.95 for the Sim-Free version. Users can also choose monthly HTC One Contract Deals starting from £28.50 per month. Currently, no pricing details are available for any other countries.
