Over the weekend, an intrepid XDA developer by the name of Meter4218 managed to corral version 4.0 of the Android Open Source Project — aka, Ice Cream Sandwich — into a custom ROM that works on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. The custom-built firmware support hardware and software features working, including radio, calls, txt (sms), boots, audio partially working, and mobile data .
The video below shows Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in action on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, and the ROM was created using the ASOP Ice Cream Sandwich code that was released by Google.
The unofficial install still carries significant risks. camera doesn’t work, wifi also doesn’t work, and the Data Usage app can’t track what’s running. You can go to XDA website to get updated and download Android 4.0 ICS ROM info for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
